Welcome to Puerto Vallarta! Once a sleepy quite village at the mouth of the Cuale river, it was catapulted to fame with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor's visit in 1964. He, Eva Gardner, Deborah Kerr and Sue Lyon came to town to film Tennessee Williams' Night of Iguana directed by John Huston. The press descended on the town when it became known that Burton and Taylor were living together when both were married to others.
